Pretend Play: Bathtime for the Stuffed Animals

L treats his stuffed animals as though they are real. When I provide voices for them he absolutely loves it. Anything having to do with putting his stuffed animals into real situations or giving them realistic qualities delights the pants off this kid. I've let his stuffed animals drive with me, stuck them out the sunroof while they scream "whoohooooo!," taken them into the grocery store to let them help with the shopping, given them their own plate of food at the dinner table, literally taken them to the doctor for a checkup, etc. All while providing the different silly voices for each one the whole time. I may look crazy but It's absolutely adorable to see how happy it makes him and when the time comes that he grows out of this imaginative stage it will be very sad indeed.

Until then...his stuffed animals will continue to have many adventures!

Today I let L give a few of his stuffed friends a bath outside.
I filled a tub with water and added some dish soap,
gave him a rag, an almost empty bottle of body wash and the hose.
HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED  THIS!
He washed them so carefully and talked to each one telling them what parts of the body he had to wash and  how clean and nice they were going to be.

Time to rinse off

And now its time for a nice nap in the sun to dry

In Between the Storms

The last few days and it seems like this whole month has been non stop rain and storms.
We've been so cooped up that as soon as a we get a decent break in the rain we head outside almost immediately. We've just moved into our new house and the lake park one street over has been our outside destination quite frequently. It's an amazing park surrounded by woods on one side and the lake on the other. A playground, soft green grass, a creek, a cave, a cove...its perfect.
and the lake overflow has made for some awesome outdoor play.

A fairy tree cave of course :)

A seriously beautiful place

Painting Daisies

Today we painted daisies...among other things...

We went on a small nature hunt for things to paint and paint with

L loved painting the daisies the most

dipping the daisy

and I couldn't let L have ALL the fun so I painted my own blue daisy :)

and then rocks

and leaves

and a little leaf printing as well

and he added a splash of color to the yard

all of this leading to the enevitable....
"mommy can I paint the ground?"

a collaborative project of course

and the question which always shortly follows...
"Mommy, can I paint myself?"

and then of course I can't help but to join in

and then L takes over

and some driveway body printing action starts

and then mommy gets a bit carried away....

but thats just the fun and joy spontaneous painting...no matter how much the daisy nipples made daddy cringe (and then laugh...and then cringe again) HAHAHA!

Hey, pictures like these are necessary!
Someday he'll get married
and we'll have to have pictures like this to show his wife and children!
